The Uxbridge Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Uxbridge; building bridges between the past, present, and future through its collections, exhibits, and programs. The Uxbridge Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) organization

Located at the heart of the Blackstone Valley, Uxbridge, Massachusetts was incorporated in 1727. Uxbridge was originally part of the Western District of Mendon. Located in southeast Worcester County, the town evolved from primarily agricultural to a mixed agricultural and industrial economy during the 19th and 20th centuries as one of the earliest manufacturers of American made textiles.

Uxbridge has a rich history from the Native American people through the American Revolution and on to today. The Uxbridge Historical Society’s collections include artifacts, photos, books, and documents from as early as the 18th century. In our furniture collection we have the bed on which President George Washington slept during is visit to the town in 1789.
