SUPPORT
Uxbridge’s history is a treasure that belongs to all of us. It tells the story of our community, our resilience, and our contributions to the nation’s past. We invite you to support the Uxbridge Historical Society in preserving and sharing our town’s rich history. Your membership and donation directly funds the preservation of artifacts and archives, educational programs, community events, and the maintenance of historic landmarks.
The Cornet John Farnum House, site of Uxbridge’s first Town Meeting, is undergoing restoration thanks to the Arthur R. Taft Memorial Trust. Once completed, ownership will be transferred to the Historical Society, ensuring its future as a historic house museum and venue for public programs. To maintain and operate this landmark, we will need ongoing financial support.
Future plans include constructing a handicapped accessible annex for use as a welcome center, facilities, and a gift shop. The building would also be used to house large historical artifacts, such as John Hancock’s wagon wheels and a reproduction 18th-century cannon soon to be donated. These enhancements will enrich the experience for visitors and further connect our community to its past.
Your generosity - whether a one-time gift, a sustaining donation, or as part of your estate planning will support the vitality of our local history for generations to come. Contributions can be designated for general use or specific initiatives.Donations can be made via UniPay Gold through Unibank or mailed to P.O. Box 93, Uxbridge, MA 01569. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all contributions are tax-deductible.
